Stephanie began taking piano lessons at the age of eight and by the age of twelve, she was the accompanist for her church. Her piano teacher also gave her a scholarship for deeper study in piano. After graduating from Georgetown High School, she was granted a vocal scholarship to ULL. Her piano study was with Dr. Susanna Garcia at ULL and voice with Patrick Shelby and Wendell Davis.As a freshmen she was cast as the female lead in Napoleon on the Bandstand. Stephanie is a veteran liturgical choir director, cantor, organist, and pianist in Baptist, Catholic, Church of Christ, Jewish, and Episcopal faiths. She composed music to the Episcopal School Prayer for ESA and the Prayer to St. Cecilia for St. Cecilia School. She performed, directed, and wrote compositions for ESA Lower School's first CD. Most recently, Stephanie was commissioned to write music to the for the Junior League of Lafayette. The piece was debuted at the 50th Anniversary Banquet of the Junior League of Lafayette.
Stephanie James Hoffpauir has been teaching music in various forms for fifteen years. Stephanie holds a BA in Arts and Humanities from ULL and a state certification in music education from the state of Louisiana. In 2007, she completed requirements for a National Certification in Music - Piano (NCTM). In 2008, her credentials qualified her for LCTM status - Louisiana Certified Teacher of Music. She is a member of the Lafayette Area Music Teachers Association, Louisiana Music Teachers Association, and the Music Teachers National Association. Most recently, an article written by Stephanie was published in The Score, the quarterly newsletter by LMTA. She is currently on the board for Keys To Imagination, a music technology center.
Stephanie resides in Broussard with her husband Mitch Hoffpauir and their son, Ephram James Hoffpauir
